Knowing what’s happening at soil level offers you more control over input cost, and enables farmers to make better management decisions. Zone-based precision farming can help farmers manage changes such as elevation, soil properties and nutrient holding capacities.
With today’s precision farming technologies, it’s possible to plant different seed populations, apply different fertilizers and nutrients at varying rates, and even plant different hybrids within the same field – all based on each field management zone’s unique characteristics.

Grid sampling isn’t always the most effective way to predict yield changes based on soil samples, so we’re here to help improve that with zone-based precision farming.
The data collected from your field – soil EC, RTK-measured elevation, NDVI crop vigor measurements and yield potential – is sent to the MZB Mapping Center, where field experts create up to 12 different management zones within a single field.
This multi-layer approach helps identify variability in residual nutrients like phosphorus, potassium and zinc – variability that single layer zone-management programs won’t see.
After the data is gathered, it is stored in a cloud-based platform that gives you access to view field maps, soil sample data, application information, and organize your fields and upload yield data. Plus, mobile MZB tools are compatible with iPhones, iPads, and Androids and gives you the ability to compare yield data with zone maps with a GPS pinpoint.
