Dicamba 2024

AFS will continue to update this page with information from BASF, Bayer, and Syngenta on Dicamba training options as information becomes available.

In October 2020, the U.S. EPA issued a 5-year registration for the low-volatility dicamba products XtendiMax, Engenia, and Tavium. The EPA stated: “After reviewing substantial amounts of new information, conducting scientific assessments based on the best available science, and carefully considering input from stakeholders, we have reached a resolution that is good for our farmers and our environment.”

In December 2020, a group of NGOs filed lawsuits challenging the registration.

On Feb. 6, 2024, the U.S. District Court in Arizona issued a ruling in favor of the NGOs and vacated the registrations based on procedural grounds, finding that the EPA “did not follow the FIFRA notice and comment provisions” when it issued the registrations.

We respectfully disagree with the ruling against the EPA’s registration decision, and we are assessing our next steps. We also await direction from the EPA on important actions it may take in response to the ruling.

Our top priority is making sure growers have the approved products and support they need to safely and successfully grow their crops. We will keep our customers updated as we learn more from the EPA in advance of the 2024 growing season.

* Without a federal label, it is not legal to transport dicamba products.
